The war againts pollutions has been started everywhere around the world and India is not apart from it. Reparing and facelifting saris turnig into a booming industry in colonies around Taj Mahal. People with such a skill is highly demanded here.The workers wash,iron and attractively pack to sell the recycled saris at low prices in smaller towns through the network of traders.The saris are obtained from cities far away such as Chennai and Surat for cheap price. The specialised workers sort them out, wash them carefully to remove stains and any signs of stress before ironing them to make them look new.At times the treads are carefully taken out from the saris to remove holes which on the other hand could make the saris slightly shorter than the norm. Around 250 families are involved in this work and prospered throught this booming industry.The consumer of such saris usually are the middle and upper class families who gift these saries to their domestic helps or workers.
